Day 15 – More sun, sand and chilaxing!

The alarm went off at 5:30 am and Daddy jumped out of bed. Mommy and the girls rolled over. Daddy was heading back to Torrey Pines to play another round of golf – an annual pilgrimage that he makes to play with three west coast buddies for “The Belt.” The girls continued their relaxing mode by hanging poolside for the morning.

Daddy retained “The Belt” by making three birdies in a row – a rare feat for him as he is no Tiger. The sun continued to shine. Like dude, the weather never changes here so all you water logged east coasters may need to work your way here to dry out. We re-connected with Daddy and headed to Torrey Pines State Reserve and Beach. The waves were perfect and I became an independent bodysurfer. It was fun to see another California beach – this one had no seaweed and the waves were bigger and continued to come at me rapidly.

From here we headed back to Del Mar park where we hooked up with the O’Brien boys for some more fun. We played tennis, scootered around the fields and tossed the baseball for a short while. With the sun setting and the air balloons back up in the sky, we decided to head south to Coronado Island for a quiet evening. With pink cheeks on all of our faces, it was time to think about heading north tomorrow up the California coast. See you in LA.

Happy traveling,
Erin and Debbi

  2. Speaking for Theresa, Mary Kay and Chris, I want to say what a wonderful weekend we all had with our cousin Debra and her absolutely lovely family. To see Colleen, Steven, Kevin (and Michaelle), Connor and Tierney bond with their second cousins Lea, Torey and Erin was heart-warming . Family is family is family. No bond is ever stronger. Coast to coast.

We love you all. Enjoy meeting your Nor Cal cousins later this week. Don't ever forget, Debra...you are a California girl first!

    xoxo
    Monica
